I would give the book 3 stars. The writing was well done with a great sense of atmosphere and a lively cast of characters. I never really liked Flavia, so I think if the reader does the book could be four stars. The mystery was well done, although some of the clues could have been a little more subtle. The author is Canadian which is great. There will be quite a few books in the series, so there will be lots of Flavia to enjoy.

I enjoyed this book, and the read along with me program is a great idea.

Hello Library Ladies, Clarissa here. I'm also in Elisabeth's book club and she mentioned that we should comment on this post. So, here goes. This was an intriguing mystery. Flavia was book smart and at the same time, naive (which I thought was important, it made her appear a bit more like her 11 year old self). A fun read.
